Interview with Patrick de Pauw, Human Resources Manager

What is the purpose of the Faceo Institute (France)?
“The Institute’s aim is to promote one of the major elements of Faceo’s people philosophy : training. The Institute runs targeted programmes that help our colleagues to meet the service challenge and to make the changes their work requires.
The service profession requires balance in all the elements of a company. By working on routine practices, training can give cohesion to culture, organisation and methods. This involves an analysis of the Institute’s own work and makes it a centre for exchange.”
What training does Faceo offer?
“Faceo already possesses a pool of skills and expertise in many areas, including the technical area. The Institute’s priority is not simply to be an addition to external training programmes that are widely available on the market and that are ‘run of the mill’ and open to to everyone.
On the contrary, we have established targeted programmes dealing with the specific nature of our work and the solutions we implement. Whatever its function in the company may be, Facility Management requires each of us to have basic knowledge which enables us to understand our environment and to do what is expected of us. To varying degrees, Facility Management involves the ability to manage and supervise delegated services. Faceo has design and development expertise through its partners. The Institute offers training in all these main areas that is adapted to suit operators, managers, experts or Facility Management developers.
These training programmes also develop the required skills and work knowledge, as well as technical skills and knowledge of managing relationships to help disseminate the advantages we have that distinguish us from our competitors : a particular way of doing things, dedication to the client and service, reporting and automatic feedback, and the excellence of our skills…”

In what way is the Faceo Institute a part of Faceo’s people philosophy?
“To our knowledge, no other FM company has done the same. The Institute therefore has a privileged place in our people philosophy. The Faceo Institute is the embodiment of a commitment to companies and their clients as well as to the men and women who work in those companies.
If the market develops in the way we think it will in the future, the education and experience acquired will give everyone an opportunity to develop, that is, their ability to develop in tandem with the market and the company.”
