The Facility Manager has the challenge of keeping the buildings and equipment of the client company in good working order whilst ensuring the smooth operation of routine.

“I spend all day moving about the site and meeting people, gleaning information ; every month, I organise meetings with colleagues to get their views about what’s happening on the site.

My role also involves liaising with the client and helping in the choice of suppliers. The quality of the services depends to a great extent on the way in which the client’s needs are identified and perceived. We take on tasks that are not the client’s core business and carry out about twenty specialist tasks every day on average.

The head of the site is there to organise, manage and ensure that everything is done properly. It’s essentially like being the head of a small business.”
