Property services and security at Thales ATM Chessington Security

Thales ATM is a systems supplier to the aviation industry, situated in Tolworth, London. As with all businesses within the aviation sector, there has been a decline in sales since September 11st, 2001.

Property services: reducing running costs

Faceo has worked closely with TATM to reduce their UK property portfolio from a total of 5 locations to 2 current ones and all running costs.

The current head office for TATM, located in Tolworth, used to occupy two separate buildings with a stand-alone gatehouse (manned) controlling access/egress for the site. Faceo reduced TATM’s occupancy (footprint) at the head office to one unit.

Security management: new approach

The site facilities manager also carried out a feasibility study on reducing the costs of providing security. This included a full survey of all potential risks and the likelihood of their taking place, designing a security approach which best fit the client business.

This led to the following change in approach :

- Manned guarding hours reduced
- Improved signalling/response to CCTV and alarm activations
- Physical security improvements (high-security doors, extra CCTV coverage)

The benefits of this approach have been delivered to the client’s bottom line and produced a significant overall saving and giving a more focused approach to site security.
