On May 18th, an interview of Paul Coussy, Manager of Technical Facility Management at Faceo, was published in the daily economic French newspaper “La Tribune”. The referring article deals with “how to manage building technical maintenance in the best way".

Outsourcing building maintenance services to reduce costs

In this article, Paul Coussy explains that outsourcing building maintenance services enables to reduce operating costs of more than 20 % over the duration of the contract while guaranteeing the durability of buildings.

It is about entrusting these services (heating, air conditioning, electricity…) to a specialist of the outsourcing of building services (technical Facility Management). This one has the technical skills and necessary management tools to guarantee and monitor the service quality. The objective consists in ensuring safety and comfort to the end-users of the building, as La Tribune underlines: "to guarantee safety and comfort of the persons who work in a building, it is necessary to make sure of the smooth running of the equipments".

Managing technical maintenance in this way is also possible for groups of SMEs or companies, whose sites are remote. In that case, building maintenance services are provided by touring staff. This mutualisation of means leads to significant economies of scale.
